Good news on Monday morning: Tys Gets More Results!
Over the weekend, they put a stop sign in at Lyon and Page, after I called and convinced the traffic engineer at DPT it was a good idea, and I did it when I knew they were going to be working in the area.
I knew this was an issue because I know the neighbors, and the situation, and I knew they had been trying to get someone to pay attention to this intersection for a long time, but I had no idea how long until I got this email from a guy who lives a few houses away from the intersection:
Tys,
You’re a miracle worker. I just wanted to write to thank you for FINALLY getting the stop sign put in at Lyon and Page. I’d been trying to lobby everyone from the Police Captain to the head of DPT, and of course Gonzalez’s office about the need for this intersection to be a four-way for over 3 years. I even have a petition signed by over 400 people.
When you told me you were going to get it done –as a candidate!!—I didn’t believe you, but there it is. I thank you, my kids thank you, and our neighborhood thanks you.
Well done.
